Session 1: The Tax Appeals Commission - A New Regime for Tax Appeals

Disputes between taxpayers and Revenue are nothing new. However, the changes to the appeals regime in recent months represent perhaps the most significant reform in how these disputes will be administered since the foundation of the State. As the appeals process potentially becomes more streamlined and accessible - and therefore appeals perhaps become more common - tax practitioners of all sizes will need to be familiar with how the new regime will operate.

Topics covered will include:

  • A detailed overview of the steps involved in taking an appeal under the new regime
  • An analysis of the differences between the new process and the old appeals process
  • A practical review of some of the most relevant recent determinations published by the Tax Appeals Commission
