Paul is a Partner in the Taxation Department of BDO and has over 15 years tax experience advising multi-national corporates, owner-managed companies and high net worth private individuals. Paul has a high level of expertise in advising clients on corporate restructuring, inward and outward investment, transfer pricing and the exploitation of intellectual property. Paul also manages the taxation consequences of the transfer of valuable family assets, including trading private companies, to the next generation as part of structured processes of succession. Paul graduated from the University of Limerick with a B.A. in Law & Accounting in 1997. He is an Associate of the Irish Taxation Institute. Paul has lectured extensively for the Institute and given seminars on their behalf to industry bodies and the Department of Finance. Paul is also a Fellow of Chartered Accountants Ireland.
Úna has experience on tax planning for small to medium sized family owned businesses which includes business succession, group reorganisations, and non-filing structures. She has extensive experience on estates and trusts for high net worth individuals including anti-avoidance provisions, estate planning and cross border estate tax issues and offshore trusts. She has recently completed the Law Society’s Trust & Estate Practitioner course dealing with the legal and tax implications of succession planning. She has a degree in law (BCL) from University College Dublin (UCD), an LLM from University College Cork (UCC) and is a member of the Irish Taxation Institute (AITI), an Associate of the Chartered Secretaries & Administrators (ACIS) and is a qualified Trust and Estate Practitioner (TEP).
Rose Tierney is a qualified Chartered Accountant and Chartered Tax Adviser in both the UK and Ireland. She previously worked as a director with a Big Four firm in Dublin and prior to that several years were spent in London advising businesses on tax planning and transactions. In 2004 she established an independent Tax Practice Tierney Tax Consultancy and has since then been advising clients in the SME sector and their accountants and solicitors on various aspects of Irish and UK taxation.
